There are endless lists of problems, some are common and some are uncommon. I am putting here some clips of uncommon side effects from my site which you may find interesting:-
RHEUMATOLOGIC DISORDERS
Breast implant may contribute to autoimmune disease, human adjuvant disease, or silicone-associated disorder (SAD). Also scleroderma, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. However FDA has claimed that the relation between silicon and these diseases could not be established in studies.
MORTALITY RATES
Two recent NIH studies of overall mortality of women with implants, one from the National Cancer Institute (Dr. Louise Brinton) and one from the FDA, found plenty of extra mortality rates in the breast implanted patients. Causes included lung cancer, brain cancer, a few other cancers, other lung diseases, and an increased rate of suicide.
MENTAL HEALTH
In 2007, the longitudinal study Excess Mortality from Suicide and other External Causes of Death among Women with Cosmetic Breast Implants (2007) reported that women who seek and obtain breast implants are almost three times as likely to commit suicide as are other women. Noted no notable suicide-rate increase in the first 10 years post–breast augmentation, but, at the 11- to 19-year marks, the statistical risk was 4.5 times higher, and 6.0 times higher at the 20-year mark, compared to the standard suicide rate for women of the general populace; and that women with breast implants also faced a tripled risk of death from alcoholism and drug abuse. SOME MORE FACTS ABOUT BREAST IMPLANTS
According to the National Institute of Medicine, 25 to 40 percent of women who get breast implants end up needing another operation to correct something wrong with the first one.
A study by a maker of saline breast implants, Mentor, found that 27 percent of implants put into breast cancer patients had to be taken back out again within three years, due to side effects. Another 13 percent had to have lesser corrective surgeries. The competing manufacturer McGhan/Inamed/Allergan has similar numbers. Even for healthy patients, both were forced to admit that "most women experienced at least one complication over the three year period".
In general, breast cancer patients have complications with implants far more often than healthy people do. Many of the complications are about three times as likely for mastectomy reconstruction patients as for cosmetic augmentation patients.
Up to 9 percent of saline implants end up deflating within just three years, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The FDA also found that complications become more and more common for each year implants spend in the body.
Another FDA study found that even among women who had not complained of any perceived trouble with their implants, MRI scans showed two thirds of them have ruptured implants on at least one side. Severe that the breast ends up getting amputated. The chest wall can be injured. Your lungs and heart can be affected. You can end up dead.
They sometimes find cultures of microorganisms growing inside saline implants when they're removed.
Surgery in fatty tissues runs a much higher risk of difficult and dangerous infections taking root than surgery in lean tissue does. Infections with implants present are harder to treat than otherwise.
Just about as many people have problems with saline implants as had trouble with silicone ones. The container is still silicone rubber, The implant container can also release traces of heavy metals like platinum (used as a catalyst in creating the silicone polymers) or lead, and carcinogenic solvents like xylene and toluene.
Some doctors are of the opinion that no facility that accepts blood or organ donations should take any from women who have silicone in their bodies, whether it's in a container or not.
Some implant patients were diagnosed with: arthritis, lupus, sclerodoma, etc. Many of these symptoms might be caused by ethylene oxide, which was used to sterilize many implants. Another is that the common cause is an allergic reaction to the presence of traces of platinum.
Two recent NIH studies of overall mortality of women with implants, one from the National Cancer Institute (Dr. Louise Brinton) and one from the FDA, found plenty of extra mortality relative to patients of other plastic surgeries. Causes included lung cancer, brain cancer, a few other cancers, other lung diseases, and an increased rate of suicide.
One of the fastest growing areas of medical practice is surgeons who specialize in repairing the errors and complications of boob jobs done by other doctors
A lot of doctors doing boob jobs and other vanity surgery are quacks without proper qualifications. Most states allow anyone with a medical degree -- even dentists -- to take a weekend course and sell plastic surgery.
You want health insurance coverage for other breast-related illnesses? You will Be denied coverage of breast complications if you have breast implants.
Cement tit problem-In many cases breasts are felt like two blocks of cement covered with a quarter inch of skin. Means breast becomes extreme hard.
Surgeons claim that the cement tit problem has been solved, and modern operations don't produce that kind of extreme hardening any more. But, they still end up hardening sometimes. Still 5 to 8 percent can end up "as firm as your thigh" due to scar tissue.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) removed silicone-filled breast implants from the market in 1992 after lawsuits alleged these implants increased a woman's risk of autoimmune and connective tissue diseases. This legislative move left only saline-filled implants available in the United States.
But after investigations ? the FDA could not find any link between silicone breast implants and connective tissue or autoimmune disease. As a result, they re-approved silicone-gels with some conditions. If implants are safe then why conditions?
Thousands of women are suffering, and many are dying, as a result of corporate greed, and because the FDA didn't do its job.Recently, dozens of women and critics who blamed silicone gel breast implants for damaging health effects urged the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) NOT to lift its 13-year ban on the devices.
Breast implants have NEVER been proven safe by the FDA nor the Manufacturers, and this applies to Saline as well as silicone!
Many suffering women have told regulators of breast implants that caused rock-like scars, of silicone leaching into their organs and oozing through their skin, or unending pain
If a saline breast implant ruptures it is noticeable, because the implant deflates. This is not necessarily the case with silicone breast implants. Sometimes there are no obvious symptoms when a silicone-gel implant ruptures. This problem, referred to as "silent rupture", was one of the concerns expressed by the FDA. Implants must be removed if they are ruptured.
Saline implants also are more likely to show rippling or wrinkling than silicone-gel filled implants. Rippling occurs when the saline fill and the elastic silicone polymer shell interact with one another.
Implants Are NOT Permanent Device. In real cases, not 2 but several surgeries are required throughout the lifetime of a patient. The average lifespan of a breast implant is around 10 years only? You might as well expect to have another second surgery after your implant expiry date.
