Hello. I don;t know to others but I actually feel excited to it. Its not a major surgery so maybe that's the reason why I;m not scared. Now I'm after the real thing.

Often, patients are pretty sedated before they are taken to the surgical suite, but that's in hospitals.  I am not sure if you are sedated that much when you have surgery as an outpatient in a free standing, plastic surgery clinic.

i think for me it would be nothing...i mean if i am ready then there is nothing to be worried about..

Well that's a relief. I always thought of having the surgery while awake but with anesthesia.

What's on my mind is the outcome of my breasts. I really look forward to it since I really want to improve my breasts more.

to clarisya: you ay have that type of anesthesia. one which would keep you awake but feel nothing of the pai. you can just feel the needles (and all that!) being used upon your skin.

I agree with amanda..if you mean the pain..then surely you wont feel anything at all due to the anesthesia..but when you mean the feeling..then maybe it will depend on each character..i for one really ..not really afraid of it..i always put my trust to the doctors..

what about thinking ahead?i mean, dont mind the pain, it will go away sooner, think of the good result afterwards! That should matter more, aint?

In some cases, patients are given a prescription for Valium, and they take a couple the night before the surgery.  This way they sleep deeply.

Then, they take another Valium or two 30 minutes before they need to get undressed for surgery.

This way, they are so relaxed by the time they are on the operating table that they don't have the energy to get nervous!

Every time that I have had surgery they numbed me before they even started my IV.  And they gave me medication to relax me before I even got to the op room.  I hope they do that for breast surgery...

for me, of course i might feel so nervous because  i won't know what is happening to me after injecting the anesthesia. then after that operation i am sure i will feel so excited of having a new breast look

For me, I'm thinking of how much I hate coming out of anesthesia and how much it feels like an elephant is sitting on my chest, and how I feel like I'm in a bad dream. Last time I was coming out of anesthesia, I thought I was in a wrestling ring and hulk hogan (I don't know why hulk hogan) was slamming me onto the mat over and over again.
