Most surgeries require that you stop taking aspirin, stop taking Vitamin E, and avoid over the counter medications within 48 hours of your event.

Are there any other precautions a patient needs to take before a breast augmentation?

that is i don't know ..but usually before any surgery patients have to undergo series of lab tests to be sure that it is ok to done such cosmetic surgery...not really sure on the aspirin or vitamin E..if its true then maybe aspirin can cause internal bleeding..that was what my obgynie told me on aspirin..

For me, one I can only add is to prepare your self for it. Who knows right? For me that's really important.

not really sure on the precautions..what i know is that before the surgery one must take an exam or  been evaluated if the patient is  emotionally ready..

maybe some patient must be emotionally stable before the surgery ..

(to the above)I think so, even the person who has prepared all of the necessary things can't go with out preparing her emotions or self trust.

Other than that there's none. Or perhaps none that's that serious. When I was gonna have my surgery this is all that was ordered for me to do.

in my own opinion, one has to really get the determination and the will to get it over with. thus, one should be ready! in all aspects of the surgery.

In some areas of the USA, doctors send you to the local blood bank and have a few pints of your blood drawn, then stored, so that you can get your own blood back if there are bleeding problems.

The units of blood are sent to the facility where your surgery will be performed.

I see... Maybe that's one reason why my schedule for surgery is way too far still.

i guess i cant give a comment since i havent experienced it before..but in my assumption maybe its our doctor who will give us some advices on how to prepare things and the likes..

The only other way I would prepare for surgery would be to have the money already in the bank!

My doctor had me stop taking all over-the-counter medicines, including vitamins, diet pills, and ibuprofen.  I could keep taking all necessary prescriptions, of course.

Make sure you have arranged for someone you trust to take care of you for the days following the surgery, including taking you to some follow-up visits.

for you to be safe. you have to be open to your doctor physically and emotionally. and ask your doctor what is best to take note before and after you undergo that cosmetic surgery. and strictly follow your doctors advice..
