The first doctor I visited was suggested by a friend.  He seemed to know what he was talking about but he was really stiff and cold.  He made me too nervous.

I picked a doctor out of the phone book and ended up having my surgery with this second doctor.  I had my implants with him because he was friendlier and I wasn't nervous around him.

Was this a stupid way to choose a doctor?

its not really stupid, as long you are comfortable with the second doctor, then it was ok..being comfortable to one doctor is important too especially about this case..

I dont think so, coz you are comfortable with second doctor.

Where the question of stupidity occurs i can't understand

actually its a good choice or move in choosing a doctor..as a patient we must have confidence and no doubts at the attending physician ..

I think you did the right decision...its one factor to be consider if you wish to undergo surgery..a friendly and accomodating surgeon..

in my opinion i think you did the right thing..its very important that you know the doctor well or at least his expertise and everything..

no its not..if i am in your shoes i will do the same..

Well... Its not a stupid action for me. Just because that doctor was suggested by a friend doesn't necessarily mean that he's good. Now that you've found another one that's good then that's okay to choose don't you think? Besides, in my opinion we should always trust our intuitions.

Hi Amanda;

You did nothing stupid.  What would have been stupid would be letting someone you did not feel comfortable with do surgery on your body.  I'm glad you stood up for yourself.  You go girl!

I know the feeling since i had already  experienced a surgery but not enhancement though ..if i am not feeling confident with the doctor  or not friendly at all then i will find another one..

As for me it isn't a stupid move. As long as you are at ease with your new doctor, that is all that matters. I have my surgeon, who is a very friendly and caring one. She lets me feel comfortable before, during, and after the surgery. And until now she checks on me from time to time. What I love most is that she used high quality of Silicone in my implant. I found her from http://www.plasticsurgeryisforme.com/ which was recommended to me by my friend.
