Hello;

Has anyone heard of anybody with cancer after breast implants?  Can you still feel lumps when doing monthly breast exams?  I'm concerned because there is a strong family history of breast cancer in my family.

I'm not sure about this. I do know that exposing cells to certain chemicals can cause genetic mutations, so I suppose there might be a slightly higher risk of cancer after breast implants.

Yes, of course. When you get implants they don't remove the natural breast tissue that you have. Any tissue can become cancerous. Thus why Men can get breast cancer. Cancer is just an abnormal growth. Having implants will not stop any abnormal growth.

Absolutely. You do not get a masectomy (removal of all the breast tissue) when you get implants, they simply add a manufactured substance to what you already have. So you can still get breast cancer. The only way to prevent breast cancer is to have a masectomy.Yes, implants do nothing to reduce the risk of breast cancer and may in fact make it harder to detect cancer if it occurs.
